10 multithreaded cores with increased performance
The Intel Core i7-13620H is a processor for mobile devices of the Raptor Lake generation. It was launched on 04.01.2023 and is equipped with a total of 10 cores, including six performance cores and four efficiency cores. It has just as many cores as the Intel Core i5-12650H from the Alder Lake generation. The cores of both models are multithreaded and therefore have 16 threads. The Intel Core i5-13500H is equipped with two more performance cores, but has just as many threads. What sets the Intel Core i7-13620H apart from the other two CPUs, however, are the clock rates: It can clock at up to 4.9 GHz in boost, as opposed to 4.7 GHz for the other two processors.
Support for newer, faster memory types
Like the Intel Core i7-13500H, the Intel Core i7-13620H supports memory with up to 6400 MT/s (LPDDR5x). The Intel Core i5-12650H only supports memory with up to 5200 MT/s (LPDDR5), while the Intel Core i5-13500HX only supports memory with up to 4800 MT/s (DDR5). The Intel Core i5-13500H also supports Thunderbolt 4 and PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0.
Integrated graphics unit suitable for everyday use
As with the Intel Core i5-12650H, the Intel Core i5-13500H has the Intel Iris UH Graphics 64EUs integrated. As these iGPUs use the system's main memory, the Intel Core i5-13620H benefits from the support of faster memory types. This means that the iGPU in the Intel Core i5-13620H can also clock at 1.5 GHz with 0.1 GHz more than its predecessor. Common office applications are no problem for the iGPU and light image and video processing is also possible. If the integrated graphics card is not so important to you because a dedicated graphics card may be used, you can familiarize yourself with the Intel Core i7-1355U. Although this CPU has a slower iGPU, the cores clock at up to 5 GHz in boost mode with lower nominal power consumption, but can also process fewer threads and have access to less cache.
