The AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 is a processor based on the Zen 5 architecture and was introduced in 2024. It is positioned in the mid- to high-end performance segment and offers a balanced combination of computing power and energy-efficient AI features, making it an attractive choice for demanding users who want to efficiently handle both multitasking and AI-supported tasks.

Technical data and performance of the AMD Ryzen AI 9 365

The Ryzen AI 9 365 has four Zen 5 cores and six Zen 5c cores that offer both performance and efficiency. With a total of ten cores, the CPU therefore has two fewer Zen 5c cores than the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. This configuration enables the processing of 20 threads and ensures the smooth execution of applications that require multithreading support. As with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, the L3 cache of the Ryzen AI 9 365 is 24 MB, enabling equally fast access times to frequently used data. The TDP of the Ryzen AI 9 365 is 15 watts as standard and can increase to up to 54 watts under load. The maximum boost clock is 5 GHz, which is just below the 5.1 GHz clock of the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, but is still more than sufficient for demanding tasks.

Integrated graphics unit and comparison

The AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 is equipped with an integrated AMD Radeon 880M, which is based on the RDNA 3+ architecture. The iGPU has 12 computing units and achieves clock speeds of up to 2.9 GHz. These specifications make it ideal for processing multimedia content, but it is below the 16 computing units and 2.9 GHz of the AMD Radeon 890M, which is used in the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and can therefore offer slightly stronger graphics performance. Compared to the Intel Arc 8C iGPU of the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, which achieves a maximum clock rate of 2.25 GHz, the Radeon 880M performs better. For light to medium gaming tasks and multimedia processing, the iGPU of the AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 remains a solid choice.

AI functions and energy efficiency

Another advantage of the AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 is the integration of the AI acceleration unit, which enables faster processing of AI-supported tasks. This function is also used in the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, but in an optimized form, which makes it more efficient for AI-based workloads. Both processors benefit from machine learning, improving performance for complex calculations or image and video editing tasks. Compared to the AI capabilities of the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, which can also accelerate AI-powered tasks, the Ryzen AI 9 365 offers competitive performance through its specialized unit, but falls short of the high-end capabilities of the HX 370. Thanks to the 4nm manufacturing process, the CPU is comparatively energy-efficient. An Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, for example, only clocks up to 4.5 GHz in boost mode and can also consume up to 115W of energy.
