The AMD Ryzen 7 5825U was introduced at the beginning of 2022 and is based on the Zen 3 architecture, which uses the 7 mm manufacturing process. The base clock is 2 GHz and in turbo mode it clocks up to 4.5 GHz. Hyperthreading is also supported, which enables computing on 8 cores and 16 virtual threads. The level 3 cache is 16 MB. The TDP can be configured from 10 to 25 watts, which makes the AMD Ryzen 7 5825U rather low for a Ryzen 7 processor. This means that the AMD Ryzen 7 5825U can also be used for narrower notebooks. DDR4-3200 and LPDDR4-4266 RAM can be installed, which is in the mid-range of current technology.
As the AMD Ryzen 7 5825U is part of the Barcelo refresh, it is very similar to the AMD Ryzen 7 5800U, which was the predecessor model. Only the clock rates have been slightly increased.
The integrated graphics card is the AMD Radeon RX Vega 8, which clocks at up to 2000 MHz. With this, everyday tasks are no problem. However, without an external graphics card, image and video editing as well as current games are only possible to a very limited extent.

Most of the devices in which the AMD Ryzen 7 5825U is installed are everyday and office notebooks, in which no special features such as additional security features or touchscreens are usually installed. HP installs this processor particularly frequently in the HP Essential model series.

The AMD Ryzen 7 5825U is a powerful and refreshed everyday processor that can easily handle all office and home tasks. An external graphics card should be considered for graphically demanding tasks.
