AMD Ryzen 5 4500U - equipped for everyday use
The AMD Ryzen 5 4500U is equipped with six Zen 2 cores, which operate at a base clock speed of 2.3 GHz. The 4500U compensates for the lack of hyperthreading function with the help of turbo mode, which achieves speeds of up to 4 GHz, making the 4500U significantly different from comparable processors of the previous generation, such as the AMD Ryzen 5 3550H. The optimized manufacturing process (12nm to 7nm) enables installation in small & light notebooks and should therefore be particularly relevant for ultrabooks and convertibles.
Energy-saving and powerful
The processor can be configured to a TDP of 10 - 25 watts. According to AMD, the modern manufacturing process enables twice the performance per watt.
With the help of the AMD Radeon RX Vega 6, which is integrated as standard and operates at 1500 MHz, the CPU handles office work without any problems. The L3 cache, which comprises 8 MB, enables extensive multitasking. The processor in combination with the GPU is rather unsuitable for games; the minimum requirements are not met for current AAA titles (Hitman 3, Flight Simulator 2020). However, if you only play occasionally, you can enjoy games like FIFA 21 or Apex Legends with over 30 FPS at Full HD. With a dedicated GPU, you can of course master much more demanding tasks. This should also make it possible to use Photoshop and video editing programs.
Like similar processors from the Renoir architecture, the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U meets all the requirements for mobile, fast work and can be classified as a mid-range processor.
