Intel UHD Graphics Xe G4 48EUs
The Intel UHD Graphics Xe G4 is an integrated graphics card that is installed in combination with the i3 processors of the Tiger Lake architecture and was also released with this in the second half of 2020. At the lowest level, it operates at 350 MHz, but can reach up to 1450 MHz with Boost. The GPU should therefore offer enough power for office work and multimedia applications. The CPU in this combination should also enable multitasking without any problems.
Comparable with dedicated GPUs
As the name suggests, the Intel UHD Graphics Xe G4 48EUs works with 48EUs and is comparable to the dedicated GPU NVIDIA GeForce MX250, which is definitely promising for an integrated GPU. However, it should be noted that the performance is heavily dependent on the cooling used and can therefore vary from model to model. The power consumption is specified by Intel as 15 - 25 watts.
Useful, but not for everything and everyone
The GPU manufactured in the 10nm process enables occasional gaming. Games can at least be started on low settings with a resolution of 1280x720 with up to 30FPS. For current AAA titles, you should rather take a look at dedicated GPUs, which of course come with a price increase. The integrated GPUs of the Tiger Lake generation, such as the Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 80 EUs, offer a significant increase in performance.
According to the relevant benchmarks, the Intel UHD Graphics Xe G4 48 EUs is best suited for office applications and multimedia. It is mainly used in convertibles and notebooks with long battery life.
