Description
Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 80EUs
The Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 80EUs is an integrated graphics card that is installed in the 11th generation i5 processors. Announced in August 2020, it was released at the same time as the Tiger Lake architecture processors. In addition to the Xe Graphics G7 80EUs, there is also a 48EUs and a 96EUs version, which are installed in the respective i3 & i5 processors. All GPUs are manufactured using the 10nm process.
TDP is decisive
The performance is heavily dependent on the configured power consumption, but is at best comparable with dedicated graphics solutions. The core clock is 400 MHz and can even reach 1250 MHz in boost mode. In the relevant benchmarks, it can be compared with an NVIDIA GeForce MX450, which will nevertheless offer more performance potential in games thanks to better driver support.
Games only occasionally
Nevertheless, nothing seems to stand in the way of occasional gaming: Competitive games such as Apex Legends, Dota 2 or Valorant should be playable without any problems - albeit on low settings. The GPU is sufficient for office work in any case, and image and video editing should at least be possible.
As with any integrated graphics solution, if you are looking for lightweight and mobile notebooks, they are a good choice. However, if you want to use demanding (graphics) applications, you should take a look at dedicated graphics solutions. The Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 80EUs can be classified as an entry-level graphics card in terms of performance.
