Benchmarks show that in games such as Cyberpunk 2077 or Horizon Forbidden West, it is roughly on a par with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU when AMD FSR is enabled. Thanks to RDNA 3.5 optimizations, it particularly benefits in DX12 and Vulkan titles, while NVIDIA is still slightly ahead in ray tracing and can score points with DLSS3. Compared to NVIDIA's RTX 4070 laptop GPU, AMD relies on a strong price-performance ratio, optimized energy efficiency and stands out with better integration into AMD systems (e.g. SmartShift on Ryzen laptops). In synthetic benchmarks such as 3DMark Time Spy, it is slightly behind the RTX 4070, but can catch up in some games thanks to FSR 3.1.

It offers similar gaming performance to the RTX 4070, but builds on AMD's strengths in pricing and system integration. If you want to maximize ray tracing, you are better off with NVIDIA - for everyone else, the RX 8060S is a convincing alternative.
